Ken and his family are in Riviera Maya as we speak. He is a Grand Luxxe owner and staying in the Grand Mayan this week.
Based upon his comments and photos, he is having fun exploring the property and learning what he can. In case you do not recall, Ken is a unique. He has sent us reviews from San Jose del Cabo, Acapulco, Puerto Penasco and now Riviera Maya. Ken really gets around!
Anyway, we thought is would be worthwhile to place his Riviera Maya comments and photos on the same page to provide easy access to both. You can also see his same comments in Current News.
Following are Kens' comments about his view of the Riviera Maya property:
November 23, 2010
I am a Luxxe owner staying at the GM at RM
I walked over to the Luxxe yesterday. It is located north of the
Palace building # 5 there is only 1 building occupied at this time; 3
stories triangle shaped in the jungle.
Iwas given a tour of a room on
the second floor. NICE but only jungle view.
There are Italian coffee
machines in the room with supplied coffee cartridges, you use a room
card that you wave in front of the lockset to open the door. I was told (
you know what that is worth) that it also works the washing machines
on each floor for a charge.
They said there will be a total of 4 buildings,
a second building structure is up but not being worked on. They seem to
be working full time on a pool very close to the beach just north of the
Havana Moon restaurant.
When walking around and also looking on Bing it
seems that there is a grouping of about 10 buildings just like the
palace building west of the Luxxe and north of the existing Palace
buildings 10 thru 14 with a partially built pool and lazy river but no construction going on. There
is also an Ocean Breeze Hotel just west of that group that I was told
is for use by the Mayan folks for extra days????.
Next to the front
entrance just to the north is a LARGE underpass going under the main
highway with quite a few construction vehicles passing. I was told that
they are constructing a Greg Norman golf course there in the future.
GM is very nice with a nice pool area away from the Palace pools where
there are LOTS of people. The Blue Fish restaurant is very good for
Thanks Ken. Another fine review of a property that many of us have not seen.
